Abstract: 

Nida is an outstanding linguist who has been to 96 countries and has lectures in more than 100 universities and has been to China for 13 times. Until 2003, when he was 89 years old, he still went to Africa to give lectures. Nida’s ideas on translation have great influence on Chinese translation scholars. He never talks about academic or academic issues on academic occasions. Professor Ye Zinan, a translation theorist, wrote about this in his fifth Chinese translation in 2011. As Nida have high visibility and influence in the academic circles, when he died, and the mainstream media, such as "New York Times", the "Wall Street journal", "Washington Post", "Daily Telegraph" have been reported, and spoke highly of his academic contribution. The main academic activities of his life revolve around the translation of the bible. In the course of the Bible translation, Nida developed a set of his own translation theories from the perspective of reality, and eventually became one of the classics of translation studies. Nida himself, he alone or jointly published more than 40 books, published more than 250 articles, in addition, there are 13 of the "Bible" for translators to use reference books.
